Five things every Pakenham pool needs.
Most of our work is the regular weekly or fortnightly visit. The other four jobs come up when something goes wrong — or once a year at season change.
Weekly & fortnightly servicing
Skim, brush, vacuum, test the water, dose chemicals, check the equipment. Same tech every visit. $80–$160 per visit depending on pool size and cadence. Most clients are on a fortnightly all-year plan.
See servicing →Chemical balancing
Restore pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabiliser (CYA) and salt back to the safe band. Critical after heavy rain, a party, or a hot week with the pool uncovered. From $40–$80 for a balance-only visit.
See chemical balancing →Green pool recovery
Algae bloom rescue. Heavy chemical shock, filter run 24/7, manual vacuum to waste, follow-up balancing. Most green pools clear in 5–10 days. $250–$600 callout + the next 2–3 balancing visits.
See green pool recovery →Equipment repair
Pump, filter, salt chlorinator, heater and chlorine doser diagnostics. We carry common spares (impellers, cartridges, cell electrodes) so most jobs are one-visit. $150–$1,200 depending on the part.
See equipment repair →Seasonal opening & closing
Spring opening (cover off, shock, balance, equipment check) and autumn winterise (lower water, drain lines, dose winterising chemicals, fit cover). $200–$450 per visit, booked twice a year.

Long, hot summers — chemistry moves fast.
Pakenham regularly sits 5–7C hotter than bayside Melbourne on summer afternoons. Pool water temperature stays above 28C from mid-December into March, which is exactly where chlorine demand explodes and algae spores think it’s the holidays. Through peak summer we push most Pakenham clients to weekly servicing and a top-up dose mid-week. A 14-day gap in a 32C week is the most common cause of a green pool we’re called out to.
Pool-fence compliance under AS 1926 & the PSI regime.
Every Cardinia Shire pool and spa must be registered with council and inspected to AS 1926.1 at least every four years under Victoria’s Pool Safety Inspection (PSI) regime. We aren’t inspectors, but we flag obvious non-compliance during servicing — rusted-out gate hinges, removed self-closers, climbable objects within the no-climb zone, missing CPR signs. Better you find out from us than from a $1,800 council notice.
15–20 year-old pools — equipment is on borrowed time.
A huge proportion of Pakenham pools were installed during the 2003–2010 estate-build boom (Heritage Springs, Lakeside, early Cardinia Lakes). Sand filters and single-speed pumps from that era are now well past their service life. Salt cells from the same builds have scaled up and lost output. We diagnose and replace these regularly — usually a swap to a modern VS pump pays back in pump electricity inside two seasons.
Where we service pools.
Same-day or next-day callouts available across the Pakenham hub suburbs. Most regular routes run Tuesday–Friday with overflow on Saturday morning.
From the gate latch to the emailed test results — 5 stages.
Surface & baskets
Skim the surface, empty skimmer and pump baskets, brush walls and waterline tile. Removes the leaf load before it sinks.
Vacuum the floor
Manual head, suction-side cleaner or drop-in robot — whichever your pool runs. Floor and steps clean before chemistry.
Water test
pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, salt or stabiliser. Photometer where it matters. Result emailed before we leave.
Dose & balance
Acid, soda ash, cal-hypo, salt, stabiliser — whichever the test calls for. Dosing from the van so you never store a kilo of chemicals at home.
Equipment check
Pressure gauge, pump prime, chlorinator output, heater on/off cycle. Photo of anything that looks tired so we can plan ahead, not surprise you.
